About Tailor Maid

Welcome to Tailor Maid! I began Tailor Maid 15 years ago while I was a stay at home mom enjoying raising 4 lovely children. My children are now growing up and going off to college and I am still passionate about sewing. My main focus is on clothing made to fit the American Girl dolls and other similar 18” dolls as well as Bittie Baby dolls. However, I have expanded my offerings to include clothes for the Effanbee Katie doll , Madam Alexander dolls, Ginny dolls, 10” Ann Estelle Dolls and Barbie dolls. I also make lovely baby bonnets and embroidered baby bibs.

I launched my sewing business by selling my wares at craft fairs and at the Farmer’s Market in San Rafael, California. Until recently I sold my doll and baby clothes at a local gift shop.
For years my customers have been urging me to create an on line store. I think that with my youngest child leaving for college in the Fall this is the right time for me to start a new endeavor.

I offer quality, handmade doll and baby clothes. They are made by me in a smoke free environment. I strive for originality. Nothing is mass produced or manufactured. Many items are one of a kind. I use excellent quality materials and all seams are serged to ensure sturdy construction. My things are made to last and to be played with.
